…In 133 Years

Welcome back followers and welcome new comers to Looking for God #HEISEVERYWHERE where I write about all the places I have found God to be! Today, I had the honor and privilege of performing a spoken word poem that I wrote called Prayer in honor of Lake Grove Church’s 133 church anniversary. It was a beautiful atmosphere of praise, worship, and prayer, and I enjoyed it.

Below, you will find pictures of the program and my poem. God bless and keep you, and remember to keep seeking the face of God. He is everywhere!

“You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart.” –Jeremiah 29:13 New International Version

Prayer

(Written by Ebony Elice Gray: June 12, 2026 10 AM through August 16, 2026 7:11 AM)

The blueprint was drawn with
The Blood of The Lamb
The Walls were raised
With the Words of I AM

The roof was covered
In silent prayers
God’s breath of life
Filled the air

Light hit the heart
When Jesus came in
The doors were opened
To let hope begin

Lives were given-
Living sacrifices
To chase away the devil
And all his devices

Out of the water
A new life began
Shown off to witnesses
Of God’s mighty hand

Laid to rest
All burdens were gone
Left in the grave
With a new response

“I belong to God”
A risen soul’s cry
Free of the bondage
Of a sinful life

Floors well walked-
Good runs with falls
Times of wondering
And wailing at walls

Bended knees
And tearful moans
Rhema Words
That we are not alone

Anointed prayers
And shouts of freedom
Resurrection speeches
A child will lead them

Lead them they shall
With innocence and truth
Reared by the elders
Invested in youth

Life’s big moments
Right here on these grounds
Linked arms at the altar
As hearts gathered ‘round

To petition the God
Who never sleeps
And in faith lay hold
To promises HE keeps

Wisdom passed down
From grey hairs to toothless smiles
For the continuation of a people
Whose faith outpaced the miles

Miles it took
From here to there
Timeless testimonies
Of the Father’s care

Healed bodies
Diagnoses reversed
The laying on of hands
To lift a curse

Spirits bond
And angels dispatched
The Lord is here
He has our backs

We gather here, yes
In this meeting place
It is more than a building
Where we seek God’s face

This is holy ground
In the palm of God’s hand
From which no one can snatch us
No woman, no man

We prayed into existence
These blessings you see
We prayed each other through-
The Church- you and me

So listen for God’s voice
And get real still
Cuz “Won’t HE do it?”
“Yes HE will!”
